The Power of a Praying Wife

A few months ago I was asked if I wanted to be a part of a new small group from our church made up of women that would be going through the book, "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian. I jumped at the opportunity because one, I heard that this was a "MUST READ" by my Aunt Joan and two, I wanted to be a part of a small group, and three, I thought this would be a great opportunity, not only to receive spiritual accountability but build new friendships at the same time.
We have been meeting now for 5 weeks and the book and the small group have been amazing! Each week we go through one chapter and then answer questions from the study guide. Plus we have a great time of prayer for one another and our husbands.
I want to challenge any wifes out there that haven't read this book...to read it! Is praying for your husband a priority right now? If it's not, I challenge you to begin praying each day for your husband and watch and see how you will not only grow closer to your husband but also grow closer to Christ at the same time! The book is not all about "Change my husband Lord!", but it focuses first on..."Change me, Lord."

Booster 2006

This past weekend we took a group of our students to Booster 2006, at Bethany Bible College. It was awesome to experience what Bethany Bible College is like, it made me miss college life! We had a great weekend, there was amazing worship times, powerful speaking, crazy activities, and a great hockey game! Each year they have the Bethany Hockey team vs the "Alumni" (all the youth pastors that bring their teens) well Dave is an "Alumni" just not from Bethany...but he still got asked to play! It was sooo much fun cheering for him and a few other guys...Tim, Brent, and all the other "Alumni". We hope to take a group this spring to experience Indiana Wesleyan! Go Wildcats!:)

Trunk or Treat

What a blast! We all had so much fun last night helping out at King Valley's annual "Trunk or Treat". Over 200 kids came! With all the parents and helpers there, we had over 350+ people at last nights event! The first hour the kids come and play games and win heaps of prizes while they eat popcorn and cotton candy. The second hour the kids are lined up outside and go to over 50 different Trunks to get candy. So many great costumes and cute kids! As you can see Dave, myself, Mel, and Brent got into the costume fun of the night. Brent is "Mic.Steamy" Mel and I are 70's girls, and Dave is Billy Madison.
